Recover FTDI eeprom when Fgtech Galletto is not recognized

This is the instruction on how to recover FTDI eeprom even if gtech Galletto v54 is not recognized correctly by Windows.
Tools i used is FGTech Galleto 4 master from China, with the link:http://www.obdii365.com/wholesale/v54-fgtech-galletto-4-master-bdm-tricore-obd-function.html

Free download Galletto V54 FTDI files:
FTDI files included:
folder “FIX1”
Galletto-V54-FTDI-recovery-1
folder “FIX2”
Galletto-V54-FTDI-recovery-2

Recovery procedure:
  1. Connect Galletto v54 to USB, run Device Manager and install drivers for not recognized Galletto from directory “FIX1\Standard FTDI Drivers for recovery”

  1. Run MProg.exe, open the file “Galetto_v54.ept” and press “Program”

  1. Disconnect UBS and connect back.
Now Galletto will be recognized, but not fully programmed.

  1. Go to “FIX2” directory and run FTReadWrite_v3.exe, press “Write” and open 54.bin file.

FGTech galletto v54 “Can not find driver” problem

Problem:

When install FGTech galletto 4 V54 master software, the FTReadWrite replied “Can’t find device” error message. When trying to uninstall the driver, the window screen warmed it is not FGTECH device, but USB-to-Serial device. If install the driver, fgtech v54 software did not run and FTReadWrite or MProg didn't find the ftdi chip. Try to install the driver on both win 7 and win xp computer over and over, but in vain.

Solution:

1) Download and install the Virtual Com Port drivers from FTDI website:

Virtual COM Port Drivers
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

2) Then connect the FGTech to computer via USB port which had no device programmed and 1 blank device when the MProg Utility it shows.

NOTE: If you had backup and reprogram with the ept file. The system will not recognize the FGTECH and will not reprogram the firmware bin file. The Virtual Com Port Drivers would overlay the fgtech ECU programmer. Then you have to again download the related driver in FTDI website.

CMD Uninstaller 1.4
http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities.htm

3) After install the right drivers, FTReadWrite programmed the backup firmware file, run galletto v54 software by referring to the user manual on obdii365 webpage.

FgTech Galletto V54 read and write ST10Fxx via Tricore Boot Mode

FgTech Galletto v54 master is properly the most user-friendly ECU tuning kit comparing with other clone master version (like KESS or MPPS). My two sets of FgTech galletto ECU programmers (one main unit and another with additional BDM Frame) were delivered from obdii365.com for less than 45 bucks.

Galletto Software was not difficult to install within 3 minutes.

Here I successfully read and write SF10Fxx (K-Line) via Tircore Boot Mode. The FgTech v54 ECU tuning box would prompt which way you are going to read and write the ECU (via OBD, BDM or Tircore boot mode).

After well install and connect FgTech galletto ecu programmer, come to software main program, select vehicle and engine type
select-engine-type

Select “Read” and then “Write”, well, it is quite easy

I have tested some other models:
EDC16U1 (VAG) Read/Write ok (OBD)
EDC15V (VAG) Read/Write ok (OBD)
Audi A6 (TRICORE BOOT)
E70 3.0D EDC16 (BDM)
Renault Delphi 2007 k-line

Still leaning on it and will list all tested work ECUs by mini Galletto master.
